Which DM channels does FastBots support natively?

WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Instagram DM and Telegram are all native channels. You can connect one or all of them to the same trained chatbot. Email Replies and Slack are also supported channels if you need them.

Will the bot reply to Instagram comments or story mentions?

No. The Instagram integration only handles inbound direct messages. It won't comment on posts, reply to story mentions or post to your feed. Treat it as a 24/7 DM inbox assistant, not a social media tool.

Can it send SMS messages too?

Not natively. FastBots doesn't have a built-in SMS channel today. You could capture a phone number in the DM conversation and trigger an SMS through Zapier or Make after the chat ends, but it isn't a true in-conversation SMS reply.

Can it look up a customer's order status in WhatsApp?

If your store runs on Shopify, the chatbot can pull live order info through the native Shopify integration. For other stores, the bot can ask for an order number and email in the DM and hand it to your team: it doesn't talk to your store data directly in that case.

Do I need a WhatsApp Business account?

Yes. The WhatsApp channel connects to a WhatsApp Business number through the documented setup inside FastBots. A personal WhatsApp account won't work. Setup takes a bit of effort the first time but you only do it once.

Can a real person take over a DM?

What languages does it handle?

Around 95. The bot detects the customer's language automatically and replies in it, useful if you sell to international customers or have a global Instagram following. You can also set a default tone and house rules in your own language.

How does it stop the bot answering with the wrong info?

You control which sources the bot uses: only your trained content, broader AI knowledge, live internet search, or a mix. For DMs about pricing, shipping and policies we recommend trained-content-only, that way it can only quote from what you've fed it. You can also set a custom fallback message for questions it shouldn't try to answer.
